Whether you are visiting Florence, Pisa or the Chianti region of Italy in search of the perfect wines to sample, there is a holiday villa in Tuscany that will provide you with comfort and even luxury during your stay. Some of the best choices are the lesser know hide-away villas and farmhouses. These hidden treasures dot the countryside and open their arms widely to welcome their guests.
Chianti Farm Region Villas
Take as an example of the luxury and peace offered by Tuscany vacations the Agriturismo Casa. It is located just 25 km from Florence (Fierenza to the Italians) and allows for children under the age of 9 to stay for free with their parents. The owners welcome guests to experience Chianti vineyards year round. Language is never a problem with the multi-lingual hosts speaking English, French and Spanish. Pets are even allowed upon request.
Some other examples of the villas found in this hilly and panoramic region include the Greve, centered between Florence and Siena. Not only will you take in the vineyards, but the region boasts olive trees, castles, old parishes and medieval villages that surround the region in rich history.
A little further out is Vinci. Here just 42 km form Pisa and 2 km from the heart of Vinci you can stay at the Agriturismo Il Vincio on Via di San Panaleo. It is located on about 7 acres of vineyards and groves. It is still a family run working farm that has partially been turned in to flats for farm holidays. Daily excursions are organized from the farm into the neighbouring cities and villiages.
The Heart of Florence
A holiday villa in Florence has luxury woven throughout. The Serristori Palace built in the late 1800s for example is part of Florence's historic centre. Here the residence style villa is furnished in lavish silk drapery and bedding. However, you will not be spending much time indoors since it is located just under the Piazzale Michelangelo facing the Arno river. Without even losing site of your home away from home, you can be at the Old Bridge and Pitti Palace.
The Pizzazz of Pisa
Pisa, well known for its less than straight tower is another of Tuscany's well visited tourist spots. Villas in this area offer a variety of accommodations and locations. Just a few kilometres from the city are the farm houses options with family-style meals and a bed and breakfast feel but on a larger scale. Within the city limits are bed and breakfast rentals and the larger-more luxurious villas suitable for extended stays.
One shining example of the accommodations to be had just outside Pisa is the Hotel Villa Maya. Just 12 km for the heart of the downtown area, it welcomes guests with an immaculately furnished and maintained lobby. From there guests have the choice of one of three bedrooms or a single suite. Though pets are not allowed, there is plenty of parking and even a conference hall for 30 and a restaurant and bar on site. A romantic garden room allows guests to enjoy their breakfast in the serene setting and even host a small party.
Tuscany vacation rentals are not limited to high rise hotels or run down inns as may be common to other large cities. The quaint choices are limitless and found either within the cities limits or a very short drive into the countryside.
